I have been diagnosed with a carpal boss and am having and mri scan tomorrow. i'm wondering what causes the pain around the bump, cause when i press on some of my tissue or bones around it (on the lower part, near the wrist), it hurts really bad?

Carpal boss is not a medical term. Hopefully by now you have had the imaging study and received proper treatment for the malady.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
