A member asked:

Can a carpal bossing that occured after an injury cause any other complications or injuries to your hand? i'm asking that, cause mine is pretty painful, both the bump, and the area around the bump. both hurt by itself, but even more to touch?

Usually carpal bossing can be managed conservatively with splinting and oral pain medications as needed . However , occasionally, due to the severity of symptoms like pain, with inflammation of tendons ,it might need local steroid injections . Rarely it might need surgery with a wedge resection. It is also important to distinguish it from other conditions like a ganglion cyst.
