Can i take blood tests while on 20 mg of prednisone? i am on my 3rd day so 3rd dose and my rheumatologist wants me to take a battery of tests to determine if i have autoimmune disease. i am in a lot of pain and reason for steroidthank you so much?

Yes, your rheumatologist will be able to discern the possible changes from steroids from changes truly induced by an autoimmune disease. There are options other than steroids once a condition is clearly identified.

You could certainly call the doctor's office and ask if there is any concerns about you getting the blood tests while on the prednisone. Any concerns that the doctor may have about the timing of your lab tests will certainly be related to you by the doctor or doctor's staff.
