I went to ent surgeon for swollen salivary gland. she diagnosed me with hypertrophy salivary gland and secretion disturbance. she didnt mention it being a tumor. she told me to drink a lot of water. what does this mean? no tests were ran?

Hypertrophy just means it’s enlarged. Secretion disturbance means the gland is not producing or at least not giving off the saliva properly. I suspect the surgeon thinks your gland duct may be blocked. Were you asked to follow up after a few weeks to see if it gets better? You should. If not, consider seeing another doctor.

You may have partial blockage of the salivary gland duct. If so it would be easy to identify on an x-ray. You might want to consult with an Oral Surgeon.
