Can abscessed tooth cause swelling in paratoid area (salivary gland)? i never had a abscess tooth before. i have oral surgeon doc eval soon?

If the parotid swelling is on the opposite side from the "tooth abscess", the parotid swelling is probably not related to the abscess, and should be separately evaluated by an ENT physician. If on the same side, it may just be an adjunct to the abscessed tooth, and not the parotid gland at all.
