Noticed both tonsils are somewhat swollen/large-ish. no pain. both tonsils (and the palatopharyngeal arches?) are reddish. ive never paid attention to this area. i do have bad seasonal allergies with drainage. is this normal or due to my allergies?

It is certainly possible that they have always looked this way, if you haven’t particularly looked before and your doctor has never mentioned an abnormality. Allergies can irritate the area, so that may be the reason if this is a change from other seasons. Please have your doctor take a look. If you don’t have pus, pain, or fever and it’s both tonsils, it is unlikely to be something serious.
