A member asked:

I have severe bone pains and they have found: very low iron- very low ferritin -high rdw -very low vitamin d (and i am tan/ not depressed) i had renal cancer last year. will the iron iv help bone pains as suggested?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vitamin D may be more helpful. Take vitamin D3, 5000 units/day for three months and then 4000 units/day. IV iron will help in quickly replenishing iron stores. However, neither of these may be the cause of your bone pain.
