My ferritin is 4.4, iron 26, vitamin d 17, hemoglobin 10, hematocrit 32. i have hemolysis and target cells. i struggle to walk and heart beats fast. is this an emergency? should i get iron infusions? or iron tablets?

Iron and vit D replacement will be needed in your case. Usually oral replacement is attempted first if tolerated. A decision for thorough work up for your anemia (possibly as inpatient) that appears to be generated through more than 1 mechanism is to be made along with your treating doc and based on your symptoms, exam and their dynamics.
