70 year woman is on anxiety disorder. takes alprazolam 0.5 every night and zoloft 50 mg she recently dont want to take zoloft as it is not making any difference. is it okay to stop the zofolt or do it gradually?

It's better to taper the dose, 1/2 tablet daily for 5-7 days then 1/2 tablet for every other day for one week then she can stop.

It depends on how long she took the Zoloft for. If she has taken it every day for more than 2 months, the dose needs to be increased to have an effect. She can use up to 100 mg daily in the AM.
