My brother had an ercp 8 years ago to remove a gallstone which was completely removed. but i'm not sure if a cbd stent was placed or not. he has shown no symptoms of any stent blockage till date. is it likely that no stent was placed?

Hard to tell But most stents will show up on a simple xray of the abdomen. Ask your doctor to check with an xray.
