I had a full toenail avulsion with matrix destruction performed over four weeks ago. i have followed aftercare instructions (twice daily soaking, neosporin and dressing). should area still be painful/tender to touch? no visible sign of infection?

I have an infection in my toe nail. Since last week I've applied Neosporin daily and it just hurts a little less. It still hurts.
Signs of an infection after toenail avulsion?
Had big toenail removed 11 days ago, tender but no more pain, still gooey. How long do I do epsom soaks and neosporin/bandaid? Surgeon didn't say.
I accidentally scratched a tag or mole off of my left lower leg, and the small sore from it is still red, even w/ daily application of neosporin. Sho?
