Fluid is always present in your stomach although you do not eat so if you vomit, the vomitus is gastroduodenal fluid, sour or bitter in taste. Your underlying disease or the medication(s) you are taking is the reason for nausea/vomiting. Antiemetic medication may help but it is important to know what causes these symptoms. Please talk to your doctor for a thorough evaluation.

Fine adjustments may be needed in your TPN, specifically rate and sometimes content. On the blind side the condition for why you are on TPN may be causing the nausea or an unrelated condition. Your treating physician has the best view on your situation as there are essential pieces of information missing.
