You may not need to repeat the same test. Wait for the GI Doctor’s opinion because he may want to send a different test, like a Parietal Cell antibody Test, that is a bit less specific but helps to confirm Pernicious Anemia. Plus, we don’t know if the lab ran both IF Antibodies (Blocking and Binding). Your GI will know. Just be sure not to use bit B12 at least 2-3 wks before if they retest you.

Do you have any symptoms? What is vitamin B12 level. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, you may repeat the test in a year or so. Wish you good health!
