A member asked:

Is it possible to test positive for hiv 25 days after possible exposure? i had an antigen and antibodies test done which came back negative.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Too soon to rule out: A negative result at this stage does not exclude HIV infection. It some times take unto a year for antibody test to turn positive. You should get HIV nucleic acid test done about 3 months after the exposure and if that is negative you are essentially without HIV.
