Saw my dentist to have a bump looked at to make sure wasnt serious. x ray showed nothing. she said its possible its just the genial tubercle but never felt it before. feels like a bump, hurts when something hard touches it. could it b inflamed?

You probably have this bump before but you have not noticed it because it was not inflamed. Now, you notice it after the lining (oral mucous membrane) irritated or inflamed with a minor injury during eating. Let observe it for a couple more days. If pain persists or the bump gets bigger, make appointment with an ENT doctor if possible or at least with your family doctor but not a dentist.

Observe the bump for a few days. Please seek medical care if there is any worsening pain, change in size, shape or color of the bump.
