It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests.If the dentist who examined you was not able to sort it out, it is unreasonable to expect anyone in this forum to do better. If it is not hurting, you may watch and wait. If it doubles in size, or ulcerates it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Probably benign. The rule of thumb, however, is that all pain &/or bleeding &/or (as in your case) swelling deserves further investigation. Ask your Dentist refers you to a specialist in Oral Pathology or Oral Surgery for evaluation.
