Ive had two swollen lymph nodes in the submandibular area for a month. cbc showed a low wbc (3.0). could this be related? if so what are the potential causes?

It sounds as though you could have had a upper respiratory viral infection that would cause the lymph nodes that filter the infection in and around your submandibular area to enlarge. Also with a viral infection it is not unusual for the white blood cell count to be somewhat depressed, less than 5000.

You may feel the nodes every few days, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
