I rubbed off a mole about 4 months that had that healed and left a bit of dark residue. i feared i rubbed off melanoma so i went to my dermatologist he says to watch and see if the mole regrows. what should i do? is he giving me the right advice?

I am unclear about how you rub off a mole. Did the doctor suggest a biopsy? You cannot rub off a melanoma.

Yes, it’s the right advice. He likely saw not a residual mole, but the dark color from inflammation, otherwise, as a dermatologist,he would have biopsied immediately. I recommend to take 3-4 close up pictures with your cellphone, with good light and a ruler next to it. Repeat every 3 months and compare any growth, change in color or shape. Touch it to feel bulkiness or itch.Go back to him in 1yr
