Need for examination: If the lesion has been examined by 6 dermatologists and found to be benign, i would take it easy. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining the lesion. If you are obsessed with the lesion, you could have it removed and the tissue examined by a pathologist.

Melanomas change: Usually within two years a melanoma would change. The likelihood that a melanoma will not change in 2 years is almost non-existent. Watch the mole for the following: asymmetry, border irregularity, color irregularity, and change. If it changes or develops any of these characteristics, have it removed. Also if a mole is significantly different than all your other moles (ugly duckling sign).
