Im on azithromycin to prevent pneumonia from covid. the gas has been horrible about 5 hours after taking the pill. my stomach hurts all night & the gas is unbearable. i have taken with food. i have 2 days left. i have to stop taking it. is that okay?

Yes, you can stop it. Studies have not shown any benefit of using Azithromycin in this case.

Yes. 1) These are common side effects of azithromycin 2) there is no evidence that azithromycin prevents pneumonia in people with coronavirus 3) each azithromycin pill stays in your body for a VERY long time (approx 4 days). So the pills you took (and their side effects) are likely to remain present for several weeks, even if you stop now.
