Heavy head: Several things that come to mind sleep apnea, malnutrition hypertension, and depression. Sleep apnea is high on my list with your hypertension. See your doctor.

Extra thoughts: Agree with Dr Romano, but here are a few extra possibilities: nocturnal bruxism, jaw and dental issues, sinusitis, neck problems, and initial episodes of chronic daily headaches secondary to pain medications associated with early migraine. A sleep study seems a good approach.
