Yes, but...: The metoprolol dose you describe is too low, but beta-blockers are not great hypertension drugs to start with anyway. There may be another reason you're on one. The amlodipine and the combo diuretic are good choices, but other agents can be added as needed. Some racial factors may impact drug choices, so keep looped in with your doc. Good luck!
