Losartan : We live in a world where information is widely provided and widely distorted. The most likely reason for a diabetic patient to have an increase in microalbumin or get end-stage kidney disease is poor health compliance. Losartan protects the kidneys , if taken with ibuprofen (NSAIDs) you can get kidney damage, at times it can increase the creatinine or potassium a bit.

Losartan Kidney: The lab test you need is albumin/creatinine ratio. Otherwise it will change depending on the time of day you peeded and how much liquid you had consumed before you peeded. Losartan can cause a worsening of kidney function if you have a blocked artery to one or both kidneys but this will be reflected in a fall in eGFR or a rise is serum creatinine. This would be rare at 4Discuss with your team
