Need ARB or ACE: Need either arb or ace to stop leakage of protein from the nephrons of kidney which are the smallest unit of kidneys. Your gfr is below the normal which is abnormal. Your a1c appears to be normal. Dehydration needs to be ruled out which can cause low gfr since your a1c is normal. If there is true decline in gfr from diabetes you need to take arb or ace inhibitor to protect further kidney damage.
