A member asked:

I have a non cancerous tumor on my thyroid that's causing me pain. how likely is my surgeon going to just remove the thing and get this over with?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: The thyroid nodule and pain may not be related. Many people have thyroid nodules without pain. Your doctor needs to ascertain the cause and nature of pain as surgery may not be warranted. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
