Surgical oncologist: The surgeon that treats complicated problems resulting from malignant tumors is most often a surgical oncologist. This individual has Boards in General Surgery and on completion of training has gone on to train for several years in cancer surgery covering all areas of the body as well as become experienced in tumor immunology. He does for the most part no general surgery, that is hernias or GB.
