I normally suffer with sinusitis however now i cannot taste or smell for the past 2 days. is this a concern for covid-19?

COVID 19: Suspicion for COVID 19 is higher if you have at least 2 of these symptoms: temp of at least 99.6 F (37.5 C), Cough, Shortness of breath, Chills, Shivering, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat or new loss of taste or smell. Sinusitis could also impact senses of taste and smell.

Yes: COVID 19 infection may be associated with loss of taste and smell. Please have a screening test and self isolate. Drink fluids, use nasal saline flushes and monitor temperature. An antibiotic may be indicated if febrile or for prolonged symptoms.

Covid 19: Loss of smell and taste are diagnostic for Coronavirus infection. You should self isolate, treat any symptoms (Acetaminophen for pain/fever/headache, decongestant for nasal congestion, cough suppressant for cough) and drink lots of fluids/get lots of rest. Testing can be done on day 4-6 after developing symptoms if you need to confirm.
