HSV testing: The HSV IgM antibody test is notoriously unreliable. Only IgG testing is valid and useful. And no, not everyone has been exposoed or infected. By your age, roughly half of all people have HSV1 (i.e. positive IgG blood test). HSV2 is less common, 10-15% infected by age 30. Genital herpes doesn't usually occur in the pubic area; the scab probably wasn't due to herpes.
