Herpes I/II ?'s: Herpes I or II is very contagious, and a positive IgM test is clearly indicative of infection. Antivirals can treat active lesions, but there is no "cure", as the inactive virus continues to exist inside the cell. "Protection" does not diminish the transmission frequency as contact with genital areas outside the "protection" can occur.
