A member asked:

I had a psa blood test and it was 5.9 ( ref range anything over 4.4 is considered high). i am 75 years old and have no issues urinating at all. should i be concerned.. doctor wants me to do prostate ultrasound?

Reasonable idea: Your doctor's suggestion is reasonable. An ultrasound is less invasive than a biopsy and my show that you have an enlarged prostate that could explain the elevated PSA.
