Call your Dr ASAP: There may have been a prescription error. The medication Tapazole (methimazole) is for overactive Thyroids. Another medication Flagyl (metronidazole) is commonly used for H Pylori. If you have been taking a thyroid blocker, that explains your weight gain and it has not been treating your H pylori. Stop taking this medication and call your Dr immediately to report the error and seek direction.

H pylori: The usual duration of treatment of h pylori is rarely over 2 weeks. Are you sure you're scheduled to be treated for 3-6 months? In my opinion, weight gain after taking medication like topzole usually is a result of better digestion rather than the drug itself. A gastroenterologist can advise you about diagnosis and appropriate treatment if you haven't been seen by one.
