H. pylori commonly causes gastritis, less commonly ulcers, and only rarely gastric cancer, but it never causes acid reflux. The majority of people with H. pylori are asymptomatic and never develop ulcers or cancer, and of those who do, it can take decades to develop. Many with H. pylori, especially in less-developed countries, are infected in childhood. If you have it, get treated. Good luck.
