Why am i being told to discontinue my metronidazole and omeprazole 2 weeks prior to an helicobacter pylori breath test? what can oftentimes happen if i don't discontinue their use? how do these drugs interfere with testing? very curious!

Your test of cure: You are needing to make the system medication free so you can have your test of cure to be sure the h pylori bacteria Ian's gone if you are on the medication it will suppress the bacteria and you can get a false negative reading. It is important to be sure the bacteria is not detectable for it is linked to stomach cancer
