Adenomyosis: Adenomyosis is a disease where the lining of the uterus grows into the uterus muscle itself causing pain and irregular bleeding. Because it is an estrogen dependent process, adenomyosis will usually go away after menopause. It can also be reduced by using progesterone. There is no link between adenomyosis and uterine cancer or sarcoma.
