A member asked:

Transvaginal findings. thickened posterior myometrium (16mm, anterior 11mm) endometrium: thickness (total) 6.0 mm. structure: normal. please tell me are these findings normal? worried about cancer of the uterus? adenomyosis? day 7 cycle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A "thickened myometrium " can indicate either adenomyosis or fibroids, neither of which are significantly "pre-malignant". An endometrial dimension of "6 mm" may be entirely normal, and dependent on the time the ultrasound was performed in your hormonal cycle. At age "33", the risk of uterine cancer is extremely minimal.
