Decreases insulin : Resistance. Even after 60 years, we''re not totally sure how it works, but a major action is that it blocks glucose release from the liver and to a lesser extent the muscle. Has been used in women trying to get pregnant and also already pregnant for >50 years, but mostly in other countries. No evidence that it harms the fetus. Some doc use it, others don't.
