A member asked:

Can you take metformin if you don't have insulin restrains or type 2, taking it to lose weight and get pregnant 1500mg, will it cause sugar to drop?

NOT INDICATED FOR IT: Metformon is not indicted and should not be used to loose weight, and even if you take you will not loose much weight as when used for diabetes it is considered weight neutral and why will you take it to get pregnant unless you have pcos, than you can use it to get pregnant yes it may cause sugar to drop some.

Under supervision: Some doctors will prescribe it for women who don't necessarily have Insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes, but who desire pregnancy. It's not a recommended drug for weight loss. You should definitely be under a doctor's supervision when taking, as it has many side effects, most of which are GI related. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/drug-information/dr601533/dsection=side-effects.
