A member asked:

I have been without my metformin for over a week now. i take 2000mg a day for pcos. i am pregnant, can this hurt my baby? i will get it in 2 days.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Metformin helps women with pcos achieve pregnancy by making your ovaries function more efficiently. It does this by making your Insulin function better. Some physicians stop metformin once pregnancy is achieved. Others continue it, so that you continue to get the benefits of improving your Insulin function. See your OB asap and follow his or her advice in regards to metformin. Don't panic.
