Not usually: Spotting typically indicated that your ovaries are not ovulating (releasing an egg) normally. Unless you ovulate, you can't get pregnant. If you just started the metformin, it may take more time or it may take additional steps to help you become fertile. Call your doctor to discuss a plan of action.
