COVID 19: Uncertain what the brown urine flakes represent. If you are 70, I suspect that he may also be elderly. Don't know what other risk factors he has for more severe infection or his other symptoms. I concur with earlier recommendation for medical assessment. Urinalysis may help to determine the cause of the change in his urine appearance.

Brown flakes: This type of urinary sediment may be byproducts of red blood cells or casts of other abnormal cells. A simple urinalysis may not determine the cause. The proper order should read:: urinalysis with microscopic examination. One can also specify a cytology examination as well to detect malignant cells. Discuss this with your physician or urologist.
