Combination treat: IF you are in very bad malocclusion my best advice would be go to 1 or 2 oral surgeons and get their opinions on having surgery to correct part of the problem keeping in mind you may need orthodontics before or after the surgery. Hard to be more exact without x-rays or other things needed to give you a proper diagnosis.

Braces may work: You have to be diagnosed properly. Sometimes the lower jaw moves forward due to a bad bite and looks like a Class III but is not. In those cases, Braces often help tremendously and you can avoid surgery. A Dentist that knows how to find the correct position of your TMJ can really help you.
