Infant fever: Fever 100.4 degree of f, rectal, and higher is considered to be significant. You can give him tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin, as written on the bottle instruction. Your child needs to be seen by pediatrician.

When they are grumpy: Fever by itself is not dangerous to baby in spite of what all the tv commercials would have you believe. They are there to sell meds or thermometers. Fever reduces the reproduction rate for germs & increases the heart rate & breathing rate so the kids body can battle the infection. Mild fever is fine & requires no meds, i treat if grumpy so they will maintain their fluid intake.
