HRIG: Postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) = 1 dose of human rabies immune globulin (HRIG) plus rabies vaccine on days1. 3, 7,& 14. The rabies vaccine is given IM in deltoid area (adults). Please talk to Dr. who ordered PEP, because of risk of poor absorption from glutes & lower neutralizing antibody titers.
