Only: If pain due to possible inflammation around the nodule. Otherwise, as many other times, if wrongly assigned, pain will not go away. It is somewhat atypical for a nodule to hurt, most are quiet. If a recurrent process causing the nodules, pain may reappear in a slightly different location. The surgeon will be otherwise in best position to answer your question.
