A member asked:

My gyn said that after the hysteroscopy it will take 2+ weeks for my cervix to un-dialate. are there ways to get the cervix to close faster after a hysteroscopy so that i have some control over my own body and can stop the cramping sooner?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mother Nature reigns: "It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature". The cervix is made up of fibrous tissue and when dilated must return to its previously undilated size slowly on its' own. Surgical or labor induced dilation of the cervix causes cramping, which is best treated with Anaprox or other mild analgesic. Unlike your voluntary muscles like your arms or legs, you have no control over the cervix.
