Gilbert syndrome: In Gilbert syndrome unconjugated bilirubin does build up in the liver and I believe that this could lead to formation of bilirubin stones in the liver, bile ducts as well as the gall bladder. A gastroenterologist could verify this.

Does cholecystectomy itself increase the chance of intrahepatic stone or cbd stone formation? I know cbd dilates after cholecystectomy but was not warned of the increased chance of stone formation.

Rectal bleeding on/off 8 years. Polyp found in 08, told not to worry. Past 2 weeks bleeding each BM, 2-3xper day. Cholecystectomy in July. Sharp stabbing upper stomach pains. GP confirmed ext. hem. No bleeding on exam. Waiting a long time for GI appt?
Had an ultrasound done of the upper right abdomen RUQ, liver,measures 15.5cm no intrahepatic bile duct dilation. gallbladder, there is small polyps within gallbladder. can this affect bilirubin levels?
