Does cholecystectomy itself increase the chance of intrahepatic stone or cbd stone formation? i know cbd dilates after cholecystectomy but was not warned of the increased chance of stone formation.

Cbd stones: The same factors that predisposed to gall stones can also form cbd stones after a cholecystectomy, but I don't think the cholecystectomy it self is predisposing factor. An abdominal surgeon or gastroenterologist could better answer your question.
