Sensodyne: Sensodyne toothpaste has a higher concentration of fluoride than most other toothpastes. The additional fluoride will help desensitize your teeth, if that is the cause of your issues. It certainly won't hurt.

Sensitive teeth: Your dentist must have noted gum recession, which also means bone loss. The roots of your teeth were not meant to be exposed, and thus the sensitivity. Unlike other t'pastes, Sensodyne designed to chemically alter the exposed root surfaces to provide relief. Of concern, however, is why are you experiencing recession? Recommend you see a specialist Periodontist.
