Can sudden rise in psa level from 2.8 to 78 due to infection? my father is having uti and anuria eventually carheterized since last 5 days, he is also taking antibiotics now and regular medication for enlarged prostate since 2 years.

Rise in psa: When the prostate is swollen from congestion and/or inflammation there can be a substantial rise in the psa. I would recommend waiting until things quiet down, and hopefully after the catheter is removed, before rechecking the psa.
