See below: Cancer dosen't cause uti's. Cancer of the prostate can cause urinary obstruction with large post-void urine residuals that can predispose to uti's. Bladder cancer can sometimes be associated with cystitis. Antibiotics will usually cure these infections with or without cancer. Prostate cancer would usually be associated with a high psa level in the blood. Bladder cancer with blood in the urine.
